drewmader Absolutely incredible record from start to finish. Songs are heavy and thought provoking, production is inventive and very well executed. Top 5 records of 2022 for me, alongside The Mars Volta and Makaya McCraven.

I'll let the world hear somethin' Every face I ever made Holds in my head a certain way Dressing the same way all the time Digs in the deep for a great rhyme All my best secrets are a lie I'll let the world feel somethin' I'll let the world heal somethin' While I crawl under my bed Look into love skin to be shed Naked look easy all the time Hitting a speed needing a scribe I'll make it big just riding the tide I'll take the world to summer I'll take the whole world somewhere While my soul is dead I'll build a holy headroom Scrawled in magic blood My name will hang on your door And when all I've said Passes through corridors I'll stay with your dead Casting myself into lore

God Damn 03:38
Ten thousand knees Bend before the holes in me Eating my heads From the needles through my hands Free? Death is free Selling soul to bleed the beast Untuck my bed For the circuses and bread A caged bird sings Give me my wings (breath) I'll leave a safety net Set out for outerspace Leave a severed head Bring the one you like the best One will get upset While the other one gets rest Free? are you Free? Hell is cold and whispering: "Unshackled feet Belong to those who never sleep" People sitting inside fall in love My god it's so holy awful love Populating the deeper lumiére A goddess so lonely on furlough Feel the sick and decide to call 'em low. Onus is all you need to own. Copulating your preacher derriere Ominous only obfuscates the feeble sickle. The sky falls in cleave, notice how what you took you leave. Calculating, the reaper looms out there, do you even care?
3.
Elder Ghosts 04:14
Sail alone and open the golden hour aching moon Set along the alter Osiris in his waking tomb All the other elders have gone to die and you should too [Reprise] I saved the best for last you'll see Get the son with the eye of god and gaping wound [Reprise] Only the test will set you free [Instrumental] Hoo! (this replaces two one lines) Fallen dead Persephone stay in bed til half past noon I'll be in the evening consuming gin and licking wounds Meditate lavender & sage in baking blooms [Reprise]Turn on the alpha waves and heat Sunset Opium silence in a naked room [Reprise] Place all the fate you have on me Hoo! (4 lines)
4.
Excerpt from 'Orpheus, Eurydice, Hermes' by R. M. Rilke Am I supposed to know what it means, let it surround me? Give it away to someone, let them consume me? Bleed and leave one more, while everyone is watching Slow the needy one, give up the hobby? We all say, Even though it's meaningless We all say, Despite what your father did, I love you Even when it's meaningless We all Love Despite what we know is true . We all Love Disguise your tears with the sky, The night must be raining Hardly love myself this time, Not that I'm trying .... (ohh Ohh) Sleep me on your feet sometime While everyone is laughing I hope this is my last past life Finally I'm living….. (Oh Oh) We were warm Eden's tender brandied peach We held arms Brain beating a truer heart We are bored Pleading don't be meaningless We all die Even when we procreate We all die You will only learn what I already know A bastard in an orphanage Sow a black tie man in an easy chair Grow an ego with an opposite
5.
I feel Love again I can't believe, it could come true.
6.
MTH 3.0 01:27
Waiting for the ghost of old To be love in control Who made the space for that? Who wrote the map that brought us here?
7.
When icons and alters bloom When all that we have is gold When words open bleeding wounds When acres are blowing coals These omens seen long ago The eye from a Turing tomb These windows are overgrown The children are burning blue Three seeds from a ginkgo tree Take root and then turn into you I'm alone and your alone Let's pick a space to wait it out (Repeats) Pick a space to wait it out Pick a space to wait it out I'm alone and your alone Let's pick a space to wait it out (Repeats)
8.
Are you alone? Have you gone cold? Are you afraid? Losing your sol? I'll be right here I'll be right here I had to die Too many times Burning off lies Living on fumes I'll be right here I'll be right here All these flickering blue lights On alabaster shoes Are luminary people I've hung onto plaster moons Huddle wick of smoke & fire Valhalla's last perfume Watch this glisten in delight then Croon this sacred tune Are your brooding afternoons Of love or broken heart? How in bitter heaven's hell Is love what breaks your heart? I'll be here soon I'll be here soon I'll be here soon I'll be here soon

about

In past studio recordings, I came to the studio knowing what I was coming there to do. I started this project very differently.

I began meeting with producer/engineer David Beeman at his studio; Native Sound. From my place, the studio is a few blocks walk down famously eclectic Cherokee Street, St. Louis. I had songs and production ideas, and a great production & engineering partner in David.

With the chaos of the pandemic, studio days provided structure. Working with others in person became a precious opportunity. Instead of working exclusively at Native Sound, the work continued at home. This helped the album evolve & maturate at its own pace. Finally, in the Spring of 2022, I could call this record complete.

I believe patience and the unique conditions we had to work with produced an eclectic, durable record of songs that I am proud to now share with you.

* Special thank you to Sam Golden, Devin Moroney, Mikey Trieb.
